Hi, my name is Aisha A. Winningah, and I appreciate you taking the time to look over my profile.
My desire to eliminate mental health stigma in our communities and my own struggles with mental health issues of stress and anxiety drove me to change careers after ten years as a microbiologist in the pharmaceutical industry. My life philosophy is that through difficulties comes ease; reach out for help because behind the problems is a genuine person with strengths and abilities, as well as the need to fulfil your dreams, hopes, and goals to be happy. You just need a little help to get there, and I'd like to assist you along the way.
I work with adults and adolescents who are dealing with trauma, bereavement, anxiety and related stressors, depression, relationship problems, anger management, issues with adult children of divorce.
I am an integrative psychotherapist with a degree in counselling and coaching from London Metropolitan University. I am a registered member of the BACP, which means that my practise is supported by and in accordance with the association's code of ethics. My practise as an integrative practitioner is based on humanistic approaches, but I also use cultural sensitivity, cognitive behavioural therapy, and psychodynamic therapy techniques to help you resolve the issues that are important to you. I currently work part-time with the Refugee Council UK's Separated Children and Young Person Therapeutic Services, where I assist adolescents who have fled to the UK in search of safety. I have also worked in secondary schools, charities, and the NHS.
The sessions are held once a week for 50 minutes and cost £55.00 for in-person sessions. My working days are Mondays and Fridays, mornings and evenings.I also offer a free 15-minute consultation.
