Psychotherapist, Couples and Relationships Counsellor, and Professional Mindfulness Teacher

About me and my psychotherapeutic practice

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my profile.

Are you struggling with anxiety, loss, bereavement, depression, trauma, and/or relationship issues? Would you like to make a long-lasting change or gain a deeper understanding of why you feel the way you do. Perhaps you need to rediscover your joy, repair, or heal from what is hurting, missing, broken, or fractured in your life.

I understand, respect, and empathise with the courage it takes to seek help in a difficult moment. How vulnerable and down you may be feeling right now, perhaps even extremely anxious, lost, misunderstood, invisible, unheard, betrayed, or desperate.

I am here to help, you will find me empathic, experienced, professional, trustworthy, non-judgemental, honest, and enthusiastic. I value each client as a unique person. As a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor, trained couples and relationship therapist, and professional mindfulness teacher, my counselling methodology and approach is proactive, reflective, bold, mindful, and explorative. Together we will explore the present moment against the backdrop and influence of your formative experiences, significant or traumatic events, life challenges, influence of others, and the part your subconscious has to play in who you are right now.

I am a firm believer, and there is plenty of academic research to support my belief, that the most important factor in a successful outcome for clients in counselling is the relationship between the client and therapist. I pride myself in my ability to build and maintain deep, understanding, trusting, and open relationships with all my clients. With that in mind, I offer a twenty-minute free of charge no obligation Zoom call, an opportunity for you to put a face to a name, ask whatever question you like, and get a feel for me as a therapist and person, an opportunity for you to assess if I am the right therapist for you.

My specialist areas of expertise are couples and relationships, trauma, anxiety, loss, bereavement, grief, and men's mental health.

As a man in his 60's who has at times had his own struggles with mental health, I understand and can empathise with the reluctance of men to seek help. Men are often conditioned as young boys to be strong, that weakness is a failure. I have learnt that the real courage is in our vulnerability. I am guided my own desire to grow and inspire others to do the same. I look forward to meeting and working with you on your desired change and pathway to growth.

It is never too late to start your journey to change, as Mark Twain once wrote “Twenty years from now you will more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, explore, dream, discover”.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I am fully insured for my practice, and I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
